About Us
Kira McGovern, President of The Big Groove, works with a network of professionally trained coaches. Kira's clients have included partners and top executives at high tech and professional service firms, and leaders at higher education institutions, and community organizations.
Kira comes to coaching with 15 years experience in start-up, change management and business development in both the private and social sectors. As Founding Executive Director of Giving New England, Kira McGovern led an entrepreneurial initiative to leverage new economy resources for social profit. Under Kira's direction, Giving New England emerged as an innovative leader in the field of venture philanthropy, and was featured in Kiplinger's, The Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, National Public Radio and Women's Business.
During Kira's seven-year tenure as Vice President of Impact Boston, a consulting firm specializing in Strategies for Safe Living, IMPACT gained national recognition as an innovative industry leader, and was featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, and The Boston Globe. Kira is also co-founder of the LiveSafe Foundation, IMPACT's nonprofit partner, where she served as board president and trustee for 5 years.
Kira conducted her training with the internationally renowned Coaches Training Institute and is a a certified professional coach. She is a member of the International Coach Federation, The Organizational Development Learning Group, and is an alumna of University of California, Berkeley.
